Husband and I wanted to live in the heart of the city. That’s why we bumped into a condominium where it is conveniently located to schools, hospitals, office hub, shopping and entertainment. Having lived an Expat life somewhere in Asia for sometimes makes it easy for us to adopt in a condominium lifestyle. Yes we are delighted with the comfort and convenience that condo living brought us. However, there are still few things that I dislike living in a condominium such as:
Higher Monthly Dues. Along with number of great amenities is an extravagant fee. Condominium dues are way up higher than that of a subdivision. These goes to the maintenance of different amenities and security facilities.
Restrictions. We are bound by house rules that we need to follow. Restrictions like n pet ownership, unit renovation, utilization of common areas, noise levels and even the colors of curtain to use.
The lack of Front or Back yards where we can potter a garden also where kids can run and play (within my eyes reach) while attending to house chores.
Limited Public Parking Slot. In our place, due to limited slots, parking became a headache for car owners. Unless you have purchased your own parking slot then it wouldn’t be a problem.
Noise Vulnerability. Having a shared wall with different units, a good sound proofing is a must otherwise every unit will be vulnerable to noise.
Those were just few things (based on my experience) that somehow aggravates condo living. So if you are planning of moving to a condominium, think twice and make sure that condo living is really for you so that it will be easy for you to adopt the kind of life style living in a condominium.
