The Tot and the Spoon

by on July 6, 2012

We have always quoted my son Zoe as “matakaw” (greedy). One of his big happiness is food; anything for his mouth and tummy will surely delight the tot. He eats while playing and play while eating.

Recently, he has been practicing self-feeding. During meal time, he would insist to put his plate on the high chair’s table or he would help us prepare the table by picking his own utensils from the tray. Biscuits and crackers should also be placed on his plate and he will use spoon to eat it. At 18 months he has started using spoon successfully. He is good at getting the food into his mouth. I don’t know if greediness has something to do with this. LoL. Although sometimes he still uses his fingers.

According to George Bernard Shaw, “There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” I am just grateful that my eager beaver tot is not a picky eater; he loves whatever we serve him as long as it’s not spicy and bitter. Having a big appetite is good, but we still moderate his eating habit.
